CRN:21399 -- Field School in Material Cultu -- This course provides tools for using material culture as a source for history through multidisciplinary study in the identification, documentation, analysis, and interpretation of material objects. The material culture of tobacco provides our subject, from ancient forms of consumption, agricultural practices, labor systems, to the rise of the modern corporation.
